Our sister station WLBK is reporting that an Aurora man is charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting last week in DeKalb.
20-year-old Maurice Hamilton was arrested on Thursday, a week after the shooting on Ridge Drive.
DeKalb Police say they’ve identified Hamilton as the man who got out of a car at around 7:30 that night and went up to two people near the entrance to 808 Ridge Drive. Police say Hamilton opened fire at the two people before getting back into the car.
No one was struck by the gunfire, but police have said one person was injured by glass that shattered.
Interim Police Chief Bob Redel says an investigation into the motive continues but they believe the victim was targeted.
An arrest warrant for Hamilton was issued on Thursday and he was arrested without incident.
Along with attempted murder, Hamilton is charged with armed violence, criminal damage to property and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
