The KenCom Public Safety Center now utilizes the Everbridge Mass Notification system which is designed to provide emergency notification to residents and businesses in Kendall County.

This Emergency Notification system gives the ability to deliver pre-recorded emergency notifications and informational messages to either targeted areas or the entire County via telephone calls, text messages, or email.

The Montgomery Police Department is excited to bring awareness to this notification system and would like to strongly encourage everyone to sign up as soon as possible.

Previously, the Montgomery Police Department utilized a notification system called Nixle, which has since merged with Everbridge. The Nixle system that was

previously in use will no longer be utilized. Failure to sign up for Everbridge will prevent one from receiving future messages that are sent out. To ensure no one is omitted from this system, all residents and businesses

can log directly onto the portal to register at https://member.everbridge.net/index/1772417038942682#/login.

The Emergency Notification system is a geographical based notification system, which means street addresses are needed to select which phone numbers will receive emergency and community notification calls in any given

situation.

The system works for cell phones as well if they are registered to your home or business address within Kendall County. People who have recently moved but kept the same listed or unlisted phone number also need to change their address in the database.

When you register you will be able to select the types of notifications you want to receive. Please remember that notifications will not be put out for every type of situation all the time, but if a notification of a particular type is made that you have selected, you will receive it.

You can also sign up to receive notifications for another location that you may be concerned about within Kendall County (such as your employer location, child’s school, parent’s house, etc.)

This information will only be used for emergency and community notification purposes and will not be sold or given to any outside entity.
