The Village of Montgomery recently recognized Constitution Week that begins September 17 celebrating the two hundred and thirty-second anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention.

The purpose of the observance week is to encourage education about the United States Constitution which was originally adopted by the American Congress of the Confederation on September 17, 1787. According to the proclamations that was read by Village President Matthew Brolley “[we] urge our citizens to study the Constitution and reflect on the privilege of being an American with all the rights and responsibilities which that privilege involves.”
