A DeKalb man, who police say was advertising drugs for sale online, faces multiple charges after allegedly being found with drugs and a gun. DeKalb Police say their Targeted Response Unit on Wednesday was investigating complaints about drug sales on Hillcrest Drive when they spotted 30-year-old Eric Hughes sitting in a vehicle. Police say Hughes had recently advertised on social media that he had drugs for sale.
According to police, Hughes told officers he had marijuana after they went up to the car. He allegedly handed over a bag containing several smaller bags of marijuana.
Police say a search of the vehicle turned up ecstasy pills and a loaded handgun. Hughes was arrested and taken to the DeKalb County Jail.
He was charged with armed violence, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
