Gov. J.B. Prtizker speculated on whether or not Illinois High School Association (IHSA) sports will be happening this fall during a press conference at the Rock Island County Health Department on Monday.
There's been no official announcement as of yet from the IHSA which is set to meet Wednesday. Pritzker says the start of the school year isn't going to look like it usually does.
Pritzker thinks there isn't a one size-fits-all solution to reopening schools amidst the pandemic.
The Illinois Elementary School Association has already canceled most of its fall sports. Although, it decided that speech contests can still happen. Its board says there are still too many unknowns to safely hold sports.
