DeKalb County Sheriff's Office:
A DeKalb man was arrested for two counts of Aggravated Fleeing or Eluding a Peace Officer and was issued numerous traffic citations after he allegedly fled a traffic stop near DeKalb on Friday.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, deputies pulled over a vehicle being driven by 22-year-old Travon Bibbs of Varsity Rd. for expired registration in the area of Glidden Rd. and Bethany Rd. at around 2:43 p.m.
As deputies were investigating, Bibbs allegedly fled from the traffic stop in his vehicle after he had already identified himself by presenting his license.
Bibbs reached speeds in excess of 90 MPH while fleeing the scene and committed several traffic violations. Deputies determined the pursuit to be too dangerous to the public and terminated the chase.
Officials say Bibbs continued to flee south on Glidden Rd. at an extremely high rate of speed.
Bibbs exited the roadway at the intersection of Annie Glidden Rd. and Crane Rd. to the west and crashed his vehicle into a creek.
NIU Police apprehended Bibbs, who fled the crash scene on foot, a short time later.
Bibbs was arrested for two counts of Aggravated Fleeing or Eluding a Peace Officer; he was also cited for Fleeing or Eluding, Reckless Driving, two counts of Disobeying a Traffic Control Device, Improper Lane Usage, Driving in the Wrong Lane and Improper Display of Registration.
Deputies transported Bibbs to the DeKalb County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
Kendall County Sheriff's Office:
Officials with the Kendall County Sheriff's Office are currently investigating a battery incident that occurred near Millington early Saturday morning.
According to a report, deputies responded to the intersection of Crimmins Rd. and Fox River Rd. at around 1:10 a.m. to investigate.
The victim reported that a suspect allegedly twisted his arm before leaving the scene.
Deputies were unable to locate the suspect; an investigation is on-going.
Officials with the Kendall County Sheriff's Office are currently investigating a theft incident that occurred in Boulder Hill on Tuesday.
According to a report, deputies responded to the 0-99 blk. of Spring Garden Dr. at around 2:19 p.m. on Friday to investigate.
The victim reported to deputies that they were scammed out of $5,000. They reported that a caller stated that a member of the victim's family had been involved in an accident out of state and needed the money to stay out of jail.
An investigation is on-going.
Charges are pending against an Oswego man in an assault incident that occurred in Oswego Twp. on Friday.
According to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the area of Laurie Ln. and Butcher Dr. at around 12:08 p.m. to investigate.
Deputies found that 60-year-old Anthony Ruiz of Laurie Ln. allegedly assaulted a neighbor.
No arrests have been made.
A Plano man was arrested for Domestic Battery and Theft following an incident near Plano on Friday.
According to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the 1800 blk. of Little Rock Rd. at around 8:38 a.m. to investigate.
Upon investigation, deputies arrested 39-year-old Jonathan Chatman of Plano for Domestic Battery and two counts of Theft.
Chatman was transported to the Kendall County Jail for booking.
Officials with the Kendall County Sheriff's Office are currently investigating a hit and run that occurred in Boulder Hill on Friday.
According to a report, deputies responded to the area of Paddock St. and Long Beach Rd. at around 8:45 a.m. to investigate.
A parked vehicle was struck in the incident; an investigation is on-going.
