An Aurora man has been charged with Aggravated Kidnapping and other charges for allegedly battering a woman and forcefully transporting her in his vehicle to his home.

Kane County Court records show 24 year-old Edwin Cossio-Rodriguez is charged with counts of Aggravated Kidnapping Causing Great Bodily Harm, Kidnapping, Aggravated Domestic Battery, Aggravated Battery in a Public Place, Unlawful Restraint, Domestic Battery and Violation of an Order of Protection.

Aurora Police officials say the incident occurred on November 23rd. when Cossio-Rodriguez allegedly battered a female victim, an Oswego woman, who was a former intimate partner, and transported her into his vehicle and to his home when police arrived.

Police officials say that officers responded to the 700 block of High St. in Aurora around 10:13 p.m. that night for a report that a woman was taken by force and against her will.

Court records indicate Cossio-Rodriguez also allegedly battered a male when he took the woman by force. Cossio-Rodriguez is accused of striking the woman in the face with his elbow, knocking her unconscious when he transported her to his home in the 400 block of Watson St.

Police officials say officers arrived around 11:00 p.m. at Cossio-Rodriguez' home where the woman was found, badly beaten, suffering from injuries, and was transported to an area hospital.

Kendall County Court records show the female victim had an order of protection approved against Cossio-Rodriguez. The Aurora man was charged earlier this year in Kendall County with counts of Domestic Battery and Criminal Trespass. The cases were handled by Oswego Police and are pending in Kendall County Court.

In Kane County, Cossio-Rodriguez remains held in the Kane County Jail on $300,000 bail with 10 percent needed to bond out. His next court date in the Aggravated Kidnapping case is scheduled for December 18th.
