UPDATE:

Extreme cold will remain in the WSPY listening area on Friday, though, a Wind Chill Advisory expired at Noon.

Meteorologist Mike Spiel reports that bitter cold conditions are projected throughout the day with a high at 14 to 18.

The National Weather Service reports that temperatures dropped as cold as -11 below in Elburn on Friday morning with even colder low temperatures, further north.

Temperatures should begin to rise slowly on Friday night.

On Saturday, more light snow could return in the afternoon but the temperature will be warmer with a high around 33.
