Authorities say that a Chicago teen was found deceased, floating in a river near Joliet this past weekend.
The Will County Coroner's Office says 17 year-old Diego Santiago was pronounced deceased around 10:00 a.m. this past Saturday near the 700 block of Railroad St.
Santiago, who had been reported missing in November, was found in the Des Plaines River.
According to the autopsy, officials say Santiago's death is believed to be due to a drowning.
Final cause and manner of death will be determined at a later date, pending the final review of autopsy, toxicological and police reports.
Police say Santiago was reported missing the morning of November 20th and police detectives had been investigating his disappearance.
No additional information has been provided at this point, other than police receiving a call around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning regarding a body in the river.
