A boil order is in effect for 75 homes in the village of Oswego and is expected to be in effect for about two days.
In a statement, the village says that Public Works crews will be working on upgrades to the water main along Brock Court and Sedgewick Court on Tuesday so as a result, a precautionary, temporary boil order will be in effect.
Water service will be shut off until about 2:00 p.m. for those homes. Officials say the boil order will be in effect until water quality is tested and confirmed safe to drink, which typically takes about two days.
Residents who will be affected have been notified with a letter hand-delivered to homes, and they will be notified again once water is tested and proven safe.
Anyone with additional questions can contact the village's Public Works Department at 630-554-3242.
