A Bristol man was cited in a three-vehicle accident that injured a Romeoville man and three passengers in his vehicle in Yorkville on Tuesday.
According to the Yorkville Police Department, officers responded to a three-vehicle accident in the area of Rt. 34 and Rt. 47 at around 6:40 p.m. to investigate.
Upon arrival, officers found that a vehicle being driven by 57-year-old Ronald Reinert of Corneils Rd. struck the rear-end of a vehicle being driven by 22-year-old Ethan Bailey of Windflower Ct.
The force of the initial impact caused the front end of Bailey's vehicle to strike the rear-end of a vehicle being driven by a 45-year-old Arlington woman.
Officials say Bailey was transported to an area hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the accident.
Three passengers in Bailey's vehicle, 22-year-old Ubaldo Herrera of Northlake, 19-year-old Jayesen Gingras of Romeoville and 28-year-old Christopher Bailey of Romeoville, were also transported to be treated for minor injuries.
No other injuries were reported in the accident.
Officers issued Reinert a citation for Following Too Closely.
