Kendall County Sheriff's Office officials say that students within Plano CUSD #88 schools are not believed to be victim in a case where a Yorkville man, who worked within Plano schools is accused of possessing, disseminating and reproducing child porn.

School officials say the man worked within a special education cooperative in Plano.

According to a statement from the sheriff's office, 39 year-old Jason Leifheit of Bertram Dr. was arrested on Thursday. In total, 10 counts were filed, four Class X felonies for Dissemination or Reproduction and six Class 2 felonies for Possession.

Kendall County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Caleb Waltmire told WSPY on Friday afternoon that the sheriff's office does not have any indication that the manufacture of the child porn was done by Leifheit. Waltmire added that essentially, "rules out it was associated with students in the schools."

Kendall County Court records indicate the child porn charges are for a minor or minors under the age of 13.

On July 24th, sheriff's officials began an investigation into an online user who was alleged to be in possession of child pornography.

After determining the identity was Leifheit, detectives from the sheriff’s office, assisted by detectives from the Yorkville Police Department and members of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office High Tech Crime Bureau, executed two search warrants pursuant to the investigation.

April of 2019 Board of Education documents list Leifheit as a "teacher" under a personnel report for the Plano Area Special Education Cooperative.

Additional documents from February list Leifheit as a paraprofessional, early childhood teacher and long-term substitute.

Plano Supt. Tony Baker confirmed that Leifheit was employed within the district and has since been placed on administrative leave. The school district is also conducting an internal investigation and Baker says they will be working with authorities and the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office.

Leifheit was arrested and was transported to the Kendall County Jail where he was booked, late Thursday morning.

As of Friday afternoon, a bond hearing had not yet been held.
