The City of Aurora and the Kane County Health Department confirmed the first death due to the COVID-19 in the city on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a press release, a male in his 90s succumbed to COVID-19 complications on Monday after being diagnosed just two days prior.
Mayor Richard Irvin says "this is heartbreaking news for the family and our community. We extend our condolences and prayers to his family during this time of bereavement."
Aurora has three other positives cases, which were confirmed over the weekend, including a woman in her 20s, a woman in her 30s and a woman in her 50s.
Confirmations were provided to the city by the local health departments and no further details are available for release.
