Authorities say a Missouri truck driver was found dead on Thursday afternoon at a Minooka gas station after he was apparently crushed to death while moving items in the back of his semi some time earlier this week.
Kendall County Coroner Jacquie Purcell says 64 year-old Kevin Kealey of Wedgewood Dr. in Macon, Missouri had pulled over at the Citgo gas station in the 17000 block of Ridge Rd. in Minooka earlier in the week.
While moving items in the trailer, Purcell says Kealey was apparently killed by several sheets of 8 ft. tall plywood that fell, crushing him inside of the trailer.
Authorities didn't find Kealey until Thursday around 2:25 p.m. after Kealey's trucking company noticed his delivery had not been completed and used GPS coordinates to locate the truck and relay the information to authorities.
Coroner Purcell says Kealey was alone at the time he was working in his semi and that the death was, "terribly unfortunate."
Purcell says an autopsy was scheduled for Friday afternoon, which she says will likely show that Kealey died from traumatic asphyxiation.
