A Rockford man is facing charges, including out of county charges for theft of a motor vehicle, after he crashed the vehicle near Mendota in LaSalle County on Sunday night.
The LaSalle County Sheriff's Office says 44 year-old David Brown of Rockford and with a past Princeton address, was headed south on Route 251 around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday when he entered a ditch and overturned the vehicle.
Brown was arrested and is charged in LaSalle County with Driving Under the Influence and was cited for Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Driving While License Revoked.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office says the vehicle was reported stolen out of Compton and was turned over to the sheriff's office.
Brown was transported to OSF St. Paul Medical Center in Mendota to be treated for injuries. He was then released and was issued a notice to appear on his LaSalle County charge and citations.
Brown was transported to Lee County on the vehicle theft charge and was booked into the Lee County Jail.
