Meteorologist Mike Spiel says that an Excessive Heat Warning is now in effect and will last until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening
Saturday looks to have high temperatures reaching dangerous levels.
Saturday a high of 96 has heat index values at 105 to 110; the forecast looks to be dry.
Sunday, temps cool down with a high of 85 degrees and scattered showers and storms in the morning.
Local authorities and municipalities continue to issue warnings for residents as the heat wave settles in.
Officials say if you must be outside; please ensure that you consume plenty of water, take frequent breaks, and wear appropriate protective clothing/sunscreen. Also ensure that you keep a close eye on those at-risk for heat injuries such as kids, pets and the elderly.
Several cooling shelters will also be open for those who need to find a place to cool off.

Additionally, several local communities have changed their garbage collection schedule because of the hot heat. Check with your local municipality for updated scheduling.
