Our sister station WCSJ reports that additional security was at the Minooka Junior High School campus, Monday morning, after administrators were made aware of a possible online threat on Friday.
School officials say a Minooka Junior High School student made an alleged comment that included a statement regarding school violence. After the post, administration immediately contacted the Minooka Police Department who began investigating.
Before Friday evening concluded, the administration team received notification from police that contact was made with the family of the student and an in-person meeting occurred with the student, the family and officers to address the matter.
No charges have been announced.
Police officials said that in an effort to reassure everyone of a safe learning environment at the junior high, they had planned to have a visible presence at the school on Monday morning.
