Five people were hospitalized in a crash that occurred Thursday evening in rural Kendall County at the same intersection where a fatal accident occurred, earlier this week.

Illinois State Police officials tell WSPY that a two-vehicle, head-on crash occurred at the intersection of Route 126 and Ridge Rd. in Na-Au-Say Twp., near Plainfield. Dispatch information shows authorities and emergency personnel responded at 6:04 p.m.

ISP officials say preliminary information indicates that four subjects were transported to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora with non-life threatening injuries and one subject was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Joliet to also be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Officials said Friday morning that information surrounding the crash was still being finalized. Those injured have not been further identified and information about any citations was not yet available.

The intersection of Route 126 and Ridge Rd. has been the site of numerous accidents in recent years, including a fatal accident that occurred at the intersection, just earlier this week.

As WSPY previously reported, a semi driver from Sandwich died and two others were hospitalized with serious injuries in a three-vehicle crash that occurred on Sunday night. State Police said in that crash that the semi-driver allegedly entered the intersection after a red light and collided with a vehicle in the intersection before rolling into another vehicle stopped at the light.

WSPY will bring you anymore information made available on Thursday night's crash.
