Illinois Governor JB Pritzker was in downtown Aurora on Thursday for the launch of a new technology initiative.
Aurora is creating the "605 Innovation District," an initiative partnering to create a technology hub among several tech companies within the city.
Pritzker and Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin were among speakers to a crowd at the announcement of the district.
Various tech and elected officials also spoke. A ribbon cutting was held and a presentation of laptops and iPads were donated to local community youth groups.
