Our sister station WCSJ says a Grundy County committee is being asked to consider making Grundy County a, "sanctuary gun county."
The Grundy County Law and Justice Committee last week heard from three individuals during the public comment portion of the meeting.
Committee member Drew Muffler said a lot of Southern Illinois counties have become gun sanctuary counties.
He alluded to the recent second amendment support referendum that passed in LaSalle County.
Residents approved the LaSalle County Board to pass a symbolic resolution to, "oppose the passage of any bill where the Illinois General Assembly desires to restrict the individual right of U.S. citizens as protected by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution."
Committee Chairman Jim Ryan said they will discuss the issue more in the future.
