Aurora Fire officials have provided some more information a crash with serious injuries that was reported on Wednesday evening, not far from where Aurora meets Oswego.

Aurora Police had said in a short post that the crash, which required a medical helicopter be called to the scene, occurred on Wolf's Crossing Road at Heggs Rd. where police and Aurora Fire were called.

Fire officials said in Friday's update that one patient, who hasn't been further identified, was unconscious and trapped in the vehicle.

Upon arrival, firefighters and paramedics found a single-vehicle crash with heavy damage after the vehicle had crashed into a tree, and the tree fell on the vehicle.

Officials said the victim was in critical condition and was extricated. They were treated, stabilized and transferred to the helicopter for an airlift to an area trauma center for further treatment.

An update on the patient's condition was not listed in the Friday statement.

Police announced there were no injuries in that incident, though, traffic was blocked for some time.
