A single-family residence was deemed uninhabitable following a structure fire in Naperville on Monday.

According to the Naperville Fire Department, fire fighters were dispatched to a home in the 100 blk. of Tupelo Ave. at around 1:54 p.m. following a 911 call.

The first responding units reported smoke showing from the roof line of the home.

Officials say the fire was found to be burning in the kitchen. The blaze was quickly extinguished and was confined to the area of origin.

No residents or fire fighters were injured in the fire, but officials say that one dog was found deceased.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
