The Illinois Department of Transportation is announcing more closures through Yorkville as construction along Route 34 continues.
In a statement on Wednesday, IDOT officials announced that Center Parkway and Beecher Rd., south of Route 34, will be closed beginning this Friday.
Both are scheduled to remain closed for about a month.
A little under $20 Million in roadway work is being done for these portions of construction. The closures are a part of a project that consists of reconstructing Route 34 into four lanes with a median and replacement of structures at the Rob Roy Creek and Blackberry Creek.
Officials say the closures are expected to construct new pavement through the intersections. A release did not indicate if there were any alternate routes planned, though, each stretch of road south of Route 34 are generally short stretches.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips.
