A juvenile was taken into custody and charged with Disorderly Conduct on Friday in connection to alleged statements and verbal threats of violence regarding Wheatland Academy in Naperville.
According to the Naperville Police Department, the juvenile was charged with the Class 4 felony following an investigation into the statements.
Deputy Police Chief Jason Arres says "threats of school violence are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. I cannot stress enough the need for parents to talk to their children about the seriousness and potential consequences of such statements because we will continue to take them seriously and take necessary action to ensure the safety of our schools.”
The suspect is being processed through the juvenile court system. No further details on the alleged statements or the incident were provided by police officials.
