School Bus Front

A juvenile student was hospitalized with minor injuries after a school bus was rear-ended in Yorkville on Tuesday morning.

Yorkville Police say they were called to Galena Rd., west of Route 47 around 8:23 a.m. to investigate the crash.

Police officials say a Septran school bus was rear ended in traffic by a vehicle being driven by 22 year-old Alexandra Cuevas of Palamino Dr. in Plano.

One student was taken to Rush Copley Hospital to be treated for apparent shoulder pain.

The driver of the school bus, a 54 year-old Bristol man, was not injured or cited. Sixteen other students on the bus were uninjured. Additionally, Cuevas was not injured but she was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
