A 37 year-old Yorkville woman has been cited after a female juvenile from Yorkville, struck while riding a bicycle, was hospitalized on Friday.
Yorkville Police say that the accident happened on Bristol Bay Dr. about 300 feet east of Garritano St. around 7:20 p.m. on Friday night.
According to a report, 37 year-old Gina Rediger of Garritano St. was driving westbound on Bristol Bay Dr. when the female juvenile on the bicycle rode down a hill across the sidewalk and into the street.
Police say that Rediger could not stop in time before the front of her vehicle struck the juvenile.
Rediger was cited for Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian and for having No Insurance. She was not injured, nor was a male juvenile in her vehicle.
The female juvenile on the bicycle had her parents arrive on scene. She was taken to Rush Copley Hospital in Aurora to be treated for minor injuries.
