Floyd Dierzen Collage

Floyd Dierzen (left photo) passed away on May 15 in Rockford.  Kendall County Board Chairman Scott Gryder (right in upper right photo) presented a plaque honoring Mr. Dierzen to his sons: (L to R) Robert, Ronnie and John.  Mr. Dierzen was transported to the Newark-Millington Cemetery by an antique fire truck (lower right).  Mr. Dierzen served the Newark Fire Protection District for 56 years. At its July 21 meeting, the Kendall County Board honored long-time Newark resident Floyd Dierzen, who passed away on May 15 at the age of 78.

Mr. Dierzen served on the Kendall County Zoning Board of Appeals for over 20 years, and he served the Newark Fire Protection District for 56 years, 39 years as board president.

Kendall County Board member Judy Gilmour spoke about Mr. Dierzen's involvement with the Newark Fire Protection District.

Kendall County Board Chairman Scott Gryder presented a plaque to the Dierzen family members who were present at the Tues. meeting.

Mr. Dierzen's sons Robert, Ronnie and John were present at the July 21 ceremony in the County Board Room.

The Dierzen family is planning a special memorial to Floyd at the Newark Firehouse when socially appropriate.
