A homicide is under investigation in Joliet.
Joliet Police say that around 1:46 a.m. on Thursday, officers responded to the intersection of Krakar Avenue and Elgin Avenue in reference to shots fired where two people were shot.
Officers were able to locate both of the victims near the intersection and Joliet Fire paramedics arrived on scene and transported both victims to an area hospital.
According to the Will County Coroner's Office, 33 year-old Jesse Hannah of Joliet was pronounced deceased at Silver Cross Hospital. An autopsy revealed preliminary cause of death from multiple gunshot wounds.
The other victim, a 19 year old male from Joliet, was listed in critical condition.
Police say they are actively looking into what occurred and will update the public at a later date when there is more information.
Police are looking for assistance from any residence or business that has surveillance videos of any suspicious activity between the hours of 12:30am and
2:00am on Thursday in the area east of Walnut Street to Briggs Street and the area north of Rt. 30 (Lincoln Highway) to Copperfield Avenue.
