The Minooka Police Department arrested a man for animal cruelty last week.

Minooka Police Chief Justin Meyer said 33-year-old Nicholas Jolly, of Minooka, brought his 18-month-old Pit Bull, who had died, to an animal clinic in Kendall County on November 15th.

The clinic then contacted the Kendall County Animal Control Department for further investigation and the Minooka Police Department was notified on November 18th.

Meyer said the dog appeared malnourished weighing approximately 21 pounds, had overgrown nails and eyes were crusted over.

Jolly told police officials that he didn’t have money to pay for veterinarian services.

Meyer said two other dogs were surrendered from Jolly.

Jolly was arrested for cruel treatment of animals and remains free on a $250 bond.
