Authorities say the single-vehicle accident occurred on Cemetery Road near Tabler Road sometime before 8:00 p.m.
Police officials say a vehicle driven by 18 year-old Eric Murillo of Minooka was traveling westbound on Cemetery Road when the vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree. Murillo had to be extricated from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at Morris Hospital by Grundy County Coroner John Callahan.
Meanwhile, two juvenile passengers, who have not been further identified, were taken to Loyola Hospital in Chicago. As of Sunday, they were in critical condition. The Grundy County Sheriff's Office reconstructed the accident but the crash remains under investigation.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Grundy County Emergency Management Agency, Minooka Fire Department, and Grundy County Coroner's Office.
