A Hannon, Ontario man was issued a citation in a crash that involved two semi-trucks near LaSalle on Thursday.
According to Illinois State Police, troopers responded to a crash on eastbound I-80 near mile post 75 at around 2:30 a.m.
Upon investigation, troopers found that a vehicle being operated by 57-year-old Mohammad Asif of Hannon, Ontario was traveling on eastbound I-80 when for an unknown reason he struck a vehicle being operated by a 54-year-old Pamona, California woman.
The impact resulted in both vehicles leaving the roadway and coming to a rest in a ditch and farm field to the south of I-80.
A passenger in Asif's vehicle, 43-year-old Anahita Sherzai of Hannon, Ontario, and a passenger in the Pamona, California woman's vehicle, 56-year-old Hong Zang of Pamona, California, were both transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Asif was cited in the accident for Following too Closely.
