A new boundary line agreement with the city of Aurora was approved last week in the village of Montgomery -- the first such agreement amendment in almost 10 years.
The agreement further clarifies maintenance responsibilities on certain roadways. Some of the property identified is along Jericho Rd. and Edgelawn Dr.
Montgomery Community Development Director Rich Young says the two governments have been in negotiations for several years about the line.
The agreement, approved unanimously, will be in place for the next 20 years.
Additional portions of the agreement talk about plans for future construction of a continuous path along Edgelawn Dr. to Knell Rd. and Aucutt Rd.
Montgomery additionally has boundaries with Sugar Grove, Oswego and Yorkville.
In other items, Trustee Steve Jungermann said a resident contacted him saying muskrats are causing damage in detention basins in the Balmorea subdivision, which is on the village's west side.
Montgomery Public Works Director Mark Wolf said the village's contractor that maintains storm water basins handles muskrat removal through a sub-contractor.
Wolf said he would be in contact with the board about the trapping schedule this fall.
