Montgomery Police say they have made an arrest after a female shopper returned to the parking lot of a business to find her vehicle stolen.

Police say 20 year-old Benjamin Villalpando Jr., whose city of residence was not given, is charged with felonies for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Burglary and misdemeanor counts of Obstructing and Resisting a Peace Officer, as well as Theft of Mislaid Property.

According to a report, police were called to the business in the 2000 block of Orchard Rd. around 11:44 p.m. for a reported vehicle theft.

Amid Black Friday shopping on Thursday night, a customer advised officers that when she was done shopping she returned to the parking lot and her vehicle was missing.

Police say that on-scene officers located the vehicle in the same parking lot but in a different spot from where it had been parked. Police say Villalpando was found allegedly going through the trunk of the vehicle.

Villalpando then allegedly fled on foot. He was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit which resulted in minor injuries to the officer. Villalpando was not injured.

He was charged and was processed at the Montgomery Police Department before being transported to the Kendall County Jail.
