UPDATE 7/9/20:

No formal complaints are listed within Oswego SD308 records against an Aurora man, who is facing charges for alleged sexual abuse and sexual assault of children, in Kane and DeKalb Counties.

In response to a Freedom of Information Act request by WSPY, school district officials say they are not in possession of, nor are they aware of, any records responsive to the request for former transportation department employee Michael G. Bishop.

Authorities say that charges are being sought in four additional cities against the 47 year-old Bishop of Sapphire Ln., after Kane County prosecutors announced last month that Bishop allegedly sexually abused two children who were family members and that additional charges or potential charges were connected to Kendall and DeKalb Counties.

Aurora Police, who handled the Kane County case, said it is believed that Bishop may have been involved with other sexual abuse incidents and they are asking anyone with information or anyone who was allegedly victimized to contact them.

WSPY also previously reported that a public document from 2013 lists Bishop as a member of Oswego SD308's transportation staff.

The district indicates in additional FOIA responses to WSPY that Bishop was employed with the district during the years of 2004 - 2013.

A letter that was a return receipt from the U.S Postal Service from early 2014 shows the Oswego SD308 Board of Education had recommended Bishop for dismissal but it was based upon a failure to maintain a CDL license and permit.

The letter was sent to Bishop's then Oswego address. WSPY received information that Bishop later became a bus driver in Naperville.

As of Thursday, charges have only been filed in Kane and DeKalb Counties, though, Kane County prosecutors have noted Bishop may face similar charges in Kendall County.

Those charges would involve the same two family victims.

Bishop is charged with 14 counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse and a count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child in Kane County.

Aurora Police say their detectives worked with detectives from multiple cities to interview the victims, potential witnesses and to collect potential evidence in the case.

Prosecutors and police allege that on multiple occasions between 2008 and 2011 Bishop sexually assaulted and sexually abused two family members while they lived at two different homes in Aurora. The victims were younger than 13 years old at the time. Police say it is believed that the total abuse to the two victims occurred over a 13-year period.

DeKalb County Court records also indicate a count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault was filed last month in connection with a Sandwich Police case listed from 2004 when Bishop had a listed residence in Sandwich.

UPDATE 6/29/20:

Authorities say that charges are being sought in four additional cities, after Kane County prosecutors announced last week that an Aurora man allegedly sexually abused two children who were family members and that additional charges were connected to Kendall and DeKalb Counties.

Aurora Police said in their own post over the weekend that it is believed that 47 year-old Michael Bishop of Sapphire Ln. may have been involved with other sexual abuse incidents.

They are asking anyone with information or anyone who was allegedly victimized by Bishop to call Aurora Police’s Investigations Division at (630) 256-5500.

Additionally, WSPY has received information regarding Bishop's former status as a school bus driver in Oswego SD308 and later in Naperville. A public document from 2013 lists Bishop as a member of Oswego SD308's transportation staff. WSPY has reached out to and is awaiting additional past employment information from Oswego SD308 officials.

In regard to what has been filed criminally, WSPY reported last week that Bishop is facing the majority of his charges, at this point, in Kane County. He is charged with 14 counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse and a count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child.

In May, Aurora Police detectives received information from a neighboring law enforcement agency about an on-going sexual abuse investigation with ties to Aurora.

Prosecutors said similar charges in Kendall and DeKalb Counties involve the same victims, though, to date, additional charges have only been announced in DeKalb County.

DeKalb County Court records also indicate a count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault was filed this month in connection with a Sandwich Police case listed from 2004. Kendall County Court records do not yet indicate an approved charge or charges.

Bishop remains in the Kane County Jail on $100,000 bail with 10 percent needed to apply for bond.

He is due back in court on Tuesday.
