Our sister station WCSJ reports that a Grundy County Grand Jury on Wednesday indicted a Morris woman for her role in a crash that occurred near a school in Morris last year where several injuries occurred.
Tasha Norris is charged with two counts of Aggravated Reckless Driving, both class four felonies and misdemeanor reckless driving.
The Morris Police Department said that on October 11th, the 31-year-old was driving a black SUV traveling southbound on Route 47 and as she passed the north entrance of Saratoga School, she struck the first vehicle.
The impact then caused her vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a second vehicle that was waiting in the school driveway to turn south onto Route 47.
Norris’ vehicle then continued through the school parking lot and struck a dumpster, pushing it into a third vehicle.
In total, four people were transported to Morris Hospital and Healthcare Centers. The indictment alleges that Norris had cannabis in her system at the time of the crash.
After the crash, Norris was cited for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device, Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle. She posted bond and was released after the crash.
Norris was arrested on a Grundy County warrant in the 900 block of Lakewood Drive following the indictment on Wednesday. She remains in the Grundy County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
