Police in Naperville say they are investigating an attempted child abduction that reportedly occurred on Friday but was reported on Saturday.
Police say the incident occurred at Rotary Hill on Aurora Ave. around 11:00 pm.
The victim reported that she and her son had just attended a Rotary Hill function in the park.
The mother was sitting in the driver’s seat of her parked vehicle, while her child was seated in the rear passenger seat. As she prepared to depart, an unknown male allegedly approached her vehicle, opened the rear car door and attempted to pull the child out of the vehicle.
After failing to remove the child from the vehicle, the male fled on foot, northbound from the scene. The mother and her child were not injured during the incident.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 20’s, with blonde hair, a thin build, clean shaven, wearing a white T-shirt and gray shorts.
