The Kendall County Sheriff's Office says that no one was found after a report was made on Thursday evening of a suspicious person who may have been armed with a firearm in the area of Gilmore Road and Collins Road in Oswego Township.
The sheriff's office said in a post just before 10:00 p.m. on Thursday that officers from multiple agencies responded to the scene and a search of the area was conducted.
No one matching the description was located and officials say there is no known threat to the public at this time.
Additional investigation is being conducted and authorities say the public will be updated if there is any change.
Though there is no indication that they are related, the report follows an investigation in Oswego, earlier this week, where Oswego Police responded Wednesday to Pfund Ct. for a report of a man with a weapon walking out of Pearce’s Cemetery onto Pfund Ct.
Responding officers checked the immediate area and spoke with nearby residents and businesses and determined the incident to be unfounded. Police say a nearby childcare facility was put on lockdown out of caution for approximately 45 minutes.
Information provided in this report has been obtained from area authorities, including but not limited to local police, fire and emergency dispatch officials.
