A North Aurora man was arrested Wednesday after an alert resident allegedly saw him entering vehicles in North Aurora.
According to the North Aurora Police Department, 19-year-old Misael Bautista of Cherrywood Dr. is charged with Burglary and Criminal Trespass to Vehicle.
Officials say that a resident reported seeing Bautista enter vehicles in the 500 blk. of E. Victoria Cir. at around 7:25 a.m.
The resident provided a description of Bautista and located him a short distance away at Oak St. and Randall Rd.
Upon an on-scene investigation, Bautista was arrested and was transported to the North Aurora Police Department for booking.
Officials say that Bautista has allegedly been linked to at least one vehicle burglary and is suspected in several more in North Aurora and surrounding communities over the past six months.
On Wednesday, police in North Aurora took four vehicle burglary and three criminal damage to vehicle reports, all of which remain under investigation. All of the vehicles involved were unlocked.
Detectives recovered numerous items from Bautista and his residence which are believed to be proceeds from other burglaries, including numerous pairs of shoes, wallets, sunglasses, iPods and watches.
