Kevin Norwood

Former Oswego Village President Gail Johnson administers the Oath of Office to Oswego Police Commander Kevin Norwood in 2016.

Kevin Norwood is slated to become the next deputy police chief for the village of Oswego, replacing the outgoing Jim Jensen, who is the new Yorkville Police Chief.

Norwood will take his oath of office at Tuesday’s 7:00 p.m. Oswego Village Board meeting, where Jensen will also be honored. Bradford Delphey is the other Deputy Chief of the Oswego Police Department.

Norwood has been with the Oswego Police Department since 1996, first working as a patrol officer, then as a sergeant to a commander, where he has been for the last three years.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Aurora University in criminal justice and law enforcement.

Jensen had served as deputy chief in Oswego since 2015 and started with the Oswego Police Department in 1993.
