Governor JB Pritzker is defending the decision to remove the country band, “Confederate Railroad” from the concert lineup at the Du Quoin State Fair.
The band was nixed from the downstate fair over concerns about the group’s name and use of confederate flag imagery.
Governor Pritzker said Wednesday that has no place in Illinois.
Critics of the decision question why Snoop Dogg hasn’t been pulled from the lineup at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, as well.
His 2017 album “Make America Crip Again” features the rapper standing over a dead body with a toe tag that says “trump.”
The decisions have caused an uproar of different opinions around the state.
