DeKalb County Court records on Wednesday morning show that an Oswego man accused of Reckless Homicide in an alleged fatal DUI crash on Monday night has been issued a $15,000 recognizance bond to be released with an upcoming court date.
Twenty-six-year-old Dylan Wesolowski of Oxbow Ln. in Oswego was issued the bond and court records show he has since been appointed a public defender with a continuous alcohol monitoring order.
He is due back in court on February 28th at 9:00 a.m. in front of Judge Robbin Stuckert.
Wesolowski appeared in DeKalb County court on Tuesday afternoon, charged with Reckless Homicide, Aggravated DUI, DUI and Improper Lane Usage. He was taken into custody, following a crash on Monday night around 9:28 p.m.,north of Sandwich and Somonauk in DeKalb County.
As WSPY previously reported, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said 43 year-old Michael Jackson of Valrico, Florida, who was a passenger in Wesolowski's vehicle, died in the crash.
It's not clear at this point where the two were coming from or were going.
According to a report, Wesolowski was driving a vehicle on Somonauk Rd., south of Pratt Rd. Authorities say he had allegedly been consuming alcohol.
The sheriff's office says Wesolowski's vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Jackson was was ejected, though, the sheriff's office says both men were wearing seatbelts.
Authorities say both Wesolowski and Jackson were transported to Valley West Hospital in Sandwich by Somonauk EMS where Jackson was pronounced deceased.
Wesolowski sustained minor injuries and was later taken into custody on the charges.
Kendall and DeKalb County Court records show a couple of past cases for Wesolowski, including a Domestic Battery conviction from a 2016 case in Yorkville and various traffic violations in both counties.
As WSPY reported in May of 2018, Wesolowki was involved in a large accident in Yorkville but in that accident, was struck by an intoxicated driver who also struck three other vehicles at Rt. 34 and Diehl Farm Rd. in Yorkville.
In Monday night's arrest, Wesolowski was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
Authorities say the accident is continuing to be investigated by the sheriff's office and the DeKalb County Coroner's Office.
