An Oswego woman is charged with counts of Aggravated DUI while leaving a Sugar Grove gas station to the Kane County Jail, earlier this week.
The Kane County Sheriff's office handled the case. According to Kane County Court records, 52 year-old Julie Haas of Coyote Court in Oswego was arrested on Sunday and was charged with the felony Aggravated DUI charge for allegedly driving under the influence on a suspended license because of past DUI convictions.
She was charged with Class 2 and Class 4 felony counts.
The sheriff's office was called to a gas station at Route 47 and Jericho Rd. in unincorporated Sugar Grove Twp. around 12:22 a.m. on Sunday for the report of a vehicle that had gone off of the road and allegedly almost struck the gas station building before it was parked at a gas pump.
According to a report, a sheriff's deputy stopped Haas as she began to drive away. Investigation found that Haas was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and she was arrested.
The report indicates that in addition to allegedly becoming aggressive.
Kane County Court records show that Haas was appointed a public defender and after a court hearing on Thursday, has since been issued a personal recognizance bond.
Her next court date is set for February 14th.
