A Plainfield man was arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon following an incident in Aurora on Sunday.
According to the Aurora Police Department, officers pulled over a vehicle being driven by a 34-year-old Plainfield woman in the area of Lincoln Ave. and E. New York St. at around 2:00 a.m.
Officials say the woman's vehicle was driving on just the rim of one of its wheels.
The woman allegedly explained that she and her husband, Patrick Allen of Stonehave Dr., were leaving a party and were trying to get to a friend's house to repair the vehicle.
Allen, who was the front-seat passenger in the vehicle, eventually exited the vehicle to examine the damage when officers noticed a handgun in his waistband.
The handgun was retrieved by officers, and Allen was taken into custody once it was determined that although he possessed a valid FOID card, he did not have a concealed carry permit.
Allen allegedly explained to the officers that he "had forgotten that [he] went shooting earlier in the day.”
Allen was arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and was transported to the Kane County Jail for booking.
