Officials with the Plano Police Department are currently investigating a fleeing an eluding incident that occurred following an attempted traffic stop on Friday.
According to a report, officers attempted a traffic stop on a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu being driven by a male suspect for a minor traffic violation in the area of Mitchell Dr. and Edwards St. at around 6:56 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop and led officers on a high-speed pursuit through residential and rural areas.
Officers lost sight of the vehicle in the 13000 blk. of Faxon Rd. Officials say that it is believed that the vehicle drove through a nearby bean field.
Minutes later, officers received information that a nearby property owner observed the same vehicle driving onto his property in the 13000 blk. of Henning Rd.
The property owner observed a male exit the vehicle and flee the scene on foot, but a female passenger remained inside.
The female passenger was held at gunpoint by the property owner until officers arrived on scene.
Officers learned that the passenger was a family member of the driver, therefore identifying him.
A perimeter around the area was established, but the suspect was not able to be located.
Multiple charges including Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding Police and Reckless Driving are pending against the driver.
Plano Police were assisted by the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, Kendall County County Police Assistance Team and Yorkville Police Department.
