Road re-surfacing is taking place in Yorkville on Route 47 and officials say the work, that began Tuesday, should continue for about six weeks, pending the weather.

Construction estimates have also been given by officials that say some of the work could be closer to three weeks time. 

Illinois Department of Transportation Field Engineer Nate Sell says the resurfacing work is taking place on Route 47 between Galena Rd. and Kennedy Rd.

Sell says most of the resurfacing is taking place at night, while some sidewalk reconstruction and electrical work is taking place during the day.

Construction estimates have also been given by officials that say some of the work could be closer to three weeks time. 

Drivers are advised to use caution in the area while work is completed and construction crews are in the area.

Lane reductions are taking place at times.
