A Sandwich man was arrested on a number of charges following an incident in Sandwich on Thursday.
According to the Sandwich Police Department, 37-year-old William Mulvaney is charged with two counts of Domestic Battery, two counts of Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer and Aggravated Resisting.
Officers responded to an address in the 700 blk. of E. Railroad St. at around 3:11 p.m. to investigate a report of a male subject who allegedly hit a female in the front yard.
Upon arrival, officers located a female with a bloody face and Mulvaney standing in the front yard.
Witnesses on scene stated to officers that they allegedly saw Mulvaney slap the victim in the face and knock her to the ground.
An ambulance was called to the scene for the victim, who signed a refusal.
When officers attempted to place Mulvaney under arrest he allegedly resisted officers by pulling away, punching and kicking.
Officer deployed tasers on Mulvaney, after which he was arrested.
Mulvaney refused medical treatment on scene; no officers were injured in the incident.
Officers transported Mulvaney to the Sandwich Police Department, and later to the DeKalb County Jail for booking procedures.
