A Sandwich man was arrested for Domestic Battery, Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Damage to Property following an alleged domestic disturbance in Sandwich on Wednesday.
According to the Sandwich Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 300 blk. of W. Crofoot St. at around 8:29 p.m. to investigate.
Upon arrival, officers met with 22-year-old Charles Shoffner and his mother outside of the residence.
Shoffner advised officers that he allegedly got into a fist-fight with his father. Officers noticed that Shoffner had glass in his hair and scrapes on his wrists.
Shoffner told officers that he rammed his head into the door on purpose; he refused medical treatment.
Officers made contact with Shoffner's father inside the residence. He informed officers that Shoffner, while allegedly intoxicated, attempted to strike him while he was lying down.
Both parents advised officers that Shoffner was upset because he was not allowed to use the family car because he was intoxicated, and his driving status is revoked.
Shoffner was arrested at the scene; officers found drug paraphernalia and cannabis on his person.
Shoffner was charged with Domestic Battery, Criminal Damage to Property and Disorderly Conduct; he was additionally charged in connection with city ordinances with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Cannabis.
Officers transported Shoffner to the DeKalb County Jail for booking.
