The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office is reporting that a 44 year-old Sandwich man is dead and a 21 year-old Plano woman is facing numerous charges for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol in a fatal crash that occurred between Somonauk and Sandwich on Tuesday night.
Sheriff's deputies responded to the intersection of Suydam Rd., east of Somonauk Rd. around 9:02 p.m. where investigation found that Autumn Jensen of Terrace Way in Plano had been eastbound on Suydam Rd., allegedly driving under the influence and using an electronic device.
Her passenger, Bradley Baumann, who is the deceased, was ejected after the vehicle went off of the roadway and rolled over. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Baumann was transported to Valley West Hospital in Sandwich where he was pronounced deceased.
The sheriff's office says Jensen was treated at the scene. She is charged with Reckless Driving, Aggravated Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Using an Electronic Device While Driving and was cited for Improper Lane Usage.
Jensen was booked into the DeKalb County Jail and the crash remains under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and the DeKalb County Coroner's Office.
