The Kendall County Sheriff's Office has now provided more information regarding a fatal crash that occurred near Plano on Thursday afternoon.

Kendall County Coroner Jacquie Purcell told WSPY on Thursday that 88-year-old Marian Griswold of Yorkville was pronounced dead as a result of blunt force injuries from a traffic crash.

According to the sheriff's office, at approximately 12:22 p.m., authorities received a call to respond to the intersection of Griswold Springs Rd. and Little Rock Rd. in Little Rock Twp. for a two-vehicle accident.

The sheriff's office says Griswold was the operator of one vehicle while 79 year-old Menky Mata of Somonauk was operating the second vehicle.

Mata was transported by Sandwich EMS to an area hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. No citations or charges have been issued in the crash.

The roadway was closed down for several hours. Plano Police, Little Rock-Fox Fire, Sandwich Fire and the Little Rock Twp. Road District all assisted, with Illinois State Police assisting in accident reconstruction.
