UPDATE, 10:00 a.m.:

Yorkville Police officials say a staff member was hospitalized with minor injuries and a Yorkville man was arrested for No Valid Driver's License after he rear-ended a school bus in Yorkville on Thursday morning.

Officials say a Yorkville School District #115 bus was headed towards Plano on Route 34 at Beecher Rd. around 7:25 a.m. when the driver of a vehicle, who has now been identified as 26-year-old Ivan Neveraz-Corral of Yorkville, rear ended the bus.

Four students and two staff members were on the bus at the time of the accident. None of the students were injured, though, one of the staff members present on the bus was transported to an area hospital as a precaution for minor injuries.

The identity of the staff member has not been released by police authorities.

At the scene, the vehicle behind the bus was seen with significant front end damage.

Officials say Neveraz-Corral was arrested for No Valid Driver's License and Driving While License Suspended; he was additionally cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

Nevaraz-Corral was transported to the Kendall County Jail for booking. Authorities cleared the scene as of 8:45 a.m.

Yorkville Police and Yorkville School District #115 officials stress the importance of driving cautiously around school buses.

Now that the 2019-2020 school year has begun, all drivers are asked to help keep the community's children safe by following all laws including speed limits, no cell phone usage and bus stop arm procedures.
